The roots of the association date back to 1971. BELFertil npo became effective in January 2008. We represent the vast majority of the fertilizer industry in Belgium and GD of Luxemburg.

The mineral fertilizer industry is a branch of the chemical industry requiring a high technical and high capital investment level. The fertilizer industry provides essential nutrients for optimal development of crops for food, feed, fiber & fuel at the benefit of the consumer.

Mission

BELFertil represents its branch towards public authorities, organisations or the general public on regional, national and European level. It co-operates in a collaborative spirit with authorities and other actors in the agro-food chain or actors related to the fertilizer industry. It is active in the field of production, technology, economy, ecology, the logistic chain and of course agriculture related to the fertilizer business.

BELFertil members are dedicated to Responsible Care and to putting high quality products on the market. In addition to science based innovation, they strive to a continuous support and product stewardship for safe, sustainable and efficient use of their product range.

BELFertil is a professional section of essenscia, the Belgian Federation of Chemical and Life Sciences Industries. We are an association and are not commercially active.
